Maya Ha is a new, dedicated dive resort along the Costa Maya region of Mexico's southern Yucatan coast.

We're near the village of Mahahual, a quiet little Mayan fishing village about 3-1/2 hours south of Cancun that's the site of the new Costa Maya cruise ship pier.

And we're directly across from Chinchorro Reef, an immense, nearly untouched reef that until now has been so out of the way that it's only beginning to see divers in any significant numbers. Feel like a massage between dives? Take a look at our.

Unlike many of the overused, over-abused reefs in the Caribbean, Chinchorro is home to a vast array of marine life, and the prevailing currents in the wide, 4000-foot-deep channel separating it from the mainland will insure it stays that way. Come see for yourself why the Nature Conservancy called Chinchorro "the most biologically diverse reef of the Mexican Caribbean."

Not that pristine diving is all we have to offer. The tropical jungle all around us is as unspoiled as our reef - the vast Sian Ka'an Biosphere, itself home to over 300 species of birds, is just up the road. Non-divers will keep busy enjoying the solitude at the Mayan ruins at Chacchoben, sea kayaking to an offshore island, enjoying a relaxing massage, or unwinding in our temazcal, or Mayan sweat lodge.

Although our resort's design fits right in with our site on Costa Maya, it still gets your attention. It's hard to miss a four-story Mayan pyramid complete with Mayan steps running up the outside to the observation deck and a great view of the ocean on one side, the jungle on the other.

The swimming pool adjacent to the restaurant leads out the sand beach and the coastal reef.

The inside of the pyramid houses our second-story indoor bar and pool table as well as our ground-floor restaurant.

Sunday Barbeque
Many of our other buildings - the dive shop, bodega, and the entry building that houses our office and gift shop - are also modeled after an actual Mayan ruin.

The resort brings together the arch of Labna, the great pyramid at Uxmal, and El Castillo at Chichen Itza.

The Mayan theme continues in our fourteen air-conditioned guest villas scattered down the beach, each with a private bath and patio.
Our spa palapa adjoining the pool sits in the center of a tropical landscape.

Frilly orchids bloom in the trees and stands of ginger and heliconia rostrata are clustered below - a place to relax and enjoy a massage while listening to the sound of the surf. In spite of our remote location, you won't miss the comforts of home: our generators provide 110V, 60-cycle electricity and that famous adage, "don't drink the water," doesn't apply when you're at Maya Ha: our water has been run through our reverse-osmosis plant, where the reverse osmosis membrane removes 99% of salts, minerals, and ions and the ultraviolet sterilizer destroys 99.8% of all microorganisms, including viruses and bacteria.

Maya Ha seven-night dive packages are priced per person and include double-occupancy room, meals, tax, and five full days of diving at Chinchorro Banks or along the Costa Maya. Non-dive packages and shorter stays are available. Maya Ha facilities include restaurant, bar, pool, dive shop, and gift shop.

Terms
A $100 per person deposit is required at booking to guarantee reservations, with payment in full due 45 days prior to arrival. Cancellations within 45 days are nonrefundable, but in case of emergency cancellations, we will make every effort to reschedule your trip. We accept VISA, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, or personal checks.
